My passion for food ignited teaching English in Japan. The aromas of sizzling meat from Izakiahs, beautifully arrayed sashimi, fresh udon noodles and the authentic green tea served in restaurants were enticing. I often traipsed through train stations and department stores featuring glass cased confectionery delights, French pastries and traditional favorites.
